Admissions to Simonside

Simonside Primary School is one and one half form entry (45 pupils per year group, Nursery - Year 6).

 https://www.onetrustacademies.org.uk/key-information/policies

Nursery Admissions

Rising 3s Admissions (for children who turn three between 1/9/2025 & 31/3/2026)

To apply for a place in our Rising 3s, please contact the School Office. Please complete the application, and based on your child's age, we will consider it in the most relevant Admissions Meeting.  We will need to see the birth certificate and proof of address of the child, and this information will be recorded on the application form. We have two intakes per year, and children can join the Rising 3s in the term that they turn three (January 2026 and April 2026).  We offer funded part-time (15 hours) places with the option to pay for additional hours.  We also offer full-time funded (30-hours) places for families who qualify.

Please contact the school to discuss the options so that we can determine which sessions will best suit your needs.

You are more than welcome to come and have a look around our setting and meet our fantastic staff team.

Appeals Timetable

Timetable for reception or transfer places in middle, secondary and high schools

For reception or transfer appeals for places in September, you will have at least 20 school days to submit an appeal from the day you received notice that your application was unsuccessful.

The deadlines for submitting an appeal in order to ensure that it is heard before the end of the summer term are:

  • Transfer place -  31 March 2026

  • Reception place - 2 June 2026

Appeals submitted within the deadlines will be heard within 40 school days of these dates. You can submit an appeal after these dates but it may not be possible to hear your case until after the summer holiday. Then it will be considered after the panel has already heard any appeals which were submitted within deadline.

Where possible appeals arising from late applications will be heard within 40 school days of this deadline or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

Appeals submitted after the deadline will be heard within 40 school days of receipt, where possible.

 In-year appeals

Appeals for in-year admissions will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
