Governors play an important role in supporting and challenging the school to ensure that all children receive the best possible education. Working alongside school leaders, governors help shape the school's strategic direction, monitor standards, and ensure that resources are used effectively.
At Simonside Primary School, governors are committed to promoting the highest standards of achievement, safeguarding, and wellbeing for all pupils. They regularly visit the school, meet with staff and pupils, and review key aspects of school performance.
Governors are also a point of contact for parents and carers. While governors are not involved in the day-to-day running of the school or individual issues relating to pupils or staff, they are keen to hear the views of the school community and support the school's continued improvement. Parents are welcome to speak with governors at school events or contact the Governing Body through the school office.
Together with staff, pupils, parents, and the wider community, our governors help ensure that Simonside Primary School remains a safe, inclusive, and ambitious place where every child can thrive.
The next Governors meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 13th October 2026.
