Cultural Capital Curriculum Offer

At Simonside Primary school we strive to make sure children have breadth and depth in their learning of curriculum subjects.  Having cultural capital  (knowledge and understanding of the world) is vital for reading comprehension, vocabulary acquisition and writing development across the  curriculum.

Our Cultural Capital Offer provides unique and valuable learning experiences for your child.

Every year group will visit a rural and urban setting.  On these visits, children will learn the geography, geology, history, meteorology and sociological aspects of each setting.  By the end of their time in Y6 each child will have thorough knowledge of a wide range of settings which they can draw upon for academic and creative purposes.
