Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to the new school term! This is going to be a yet another fantastic year for Simonside, building on many successes from last year. We are all raring to go and keen to make sure that your children have the best and happiest education with us. We are delighted that so many new families are joining us this year! Our school roll currently stands at 255!
Please read below a few reminders to help this year run smoothly:
Start of school:
Doors to school open just before the bell rings at 8:50 to ensure that everyone is in class on time. Children will go straight to class once the doors have opened and teachers will be waiting for them in class. Teaching assistants will be on the yard should you have any messages to pass on to your child’s teacher. Please don’t be late!
Uniform: Thank you for your support in ensuring that our children return in full uniform and black shoes, this has been the best turn out ever! Please remember to NAME all uniform (and coats). All children must bring in a named PE kit – trainers, black shorts and green T shirt. A few children do not yet have the correct ALL black shoes on (eg: no Nike /addias logos/brown boots etc) please rectify this by Monday.
Meals provided are a healthy and tasty choice for all children. Children choose what they would like ensuring that they all enjoy their lunch. Meals costs £2.00 per day and must be paid in advanced at the office. Please see the separate dinner money paying process sheet.
Please ensure that packed lunches have healthy options inside. We do not allow sweets and large chocolate bars. We will ask your child to not eat these in school and they will be sent back in the packed lunch box. We hope you will all support our healthy school ethos.
Smoking and Parking:
Please do not stand anywhere near the school entrance smoking. Do not park outside the school gates or irresponsibly across the road. Illegal parking will be reported. We need to keep all our families safe.
This will be a busy term and you will soon be receiving information letters from your class teachers.
This year when it is your child's birthday they can come into school in non uniform on that date and wearing a happy birthday badge. If their birthday falls on a weekend or over the half term they can come in non uniform on the Friday of the following week.
Thank you once again for your continued support and we look forward to working with you and your fantastic children this year.
