Parent Governor Vacancy

7th October 2019

Simonside Primary School is looking to recruit a Parent Governor to our Governing Body.

Being a school governor is a challenging but hugely rewarding role. It will give you the chance to make a real difference to young people, give something back to your local community and use and develop your skills in a board-level environment. Each Governor brings a different set of skills and interests to the job – for that reason your input will always be valued.

The average time commitment is five to eight hours per month, although it will vary depending on the needs of the school and your Governance role. This includes meetings, background reading and school visits.

You can be assured that you will be supported with advice and training opportunities so that you can carry out this important role to the best of your ability. Good governorship is interesting, rewarding and vital to the success of the school. It needs a commitment on your part that is very much appreciated.

If you are interested in joining our Governing Body and helping us make a positive difference to the lives of young people at Simonside Primary please follow this link and complete the attached questionnaire to tell us a little about yourself.

If we have more than one parent interested in this role we will go through an election process to finalise the appointment of a Parent Governor.
