KS2 Basketball Competition

8th January 2016

Children from KS2 visited Throckley Primary School to take part in a basketball competition.

When we arrived, there were lots of other schools from our trust including: Waverley, Newburn, Throckley and Walbottle. The first game we played was against Waverley and the score was 2-1 to them. After that we played against Newburn, Throckley and then Walbottle. Each match was ten minutes long with a half-time break to refresh and regroup. During each match, our Premier Sports coach gave the team important instructions and cheered them on. Only five players were allowed to play a match, therefore the Premier Sports coach swapped players throughout the games. Our team were really good at passing and defending. All of our players said they would want to play in the tournament again.

Our players thought Throckley were the best team in the tournament because they scored lots of baskets during their matches. At the end, all of the players sat on the court and we were told the results of the tournament.
